Theoretical Part of the Course

  • History of Book-Binding (the meaning and significance of artistic bookbinding. Historical background, types of bookbinding)
  • Bookbinding materials (the materials and their contribution to the aesthetics and functionality of the book).
  • Artistic Bookbinding (the composition in bookbinding, the techniques and their contribution to the aesthetic and functional role of the book)
  • Artistic Bookbinding Equipment
  • Mechanical-industrial Bookbinding and finishing works
  • Postpress systems and production chains
  • Hygiene and Safety of employees in bookbinding-closure areas
  • Book and Form Maintenance Details
  • Environmental Policy regarding the Binding artistic and mechanical and in general with the technological completion process
  • Special Bookbinding Constructions

Laboratory Part

The laboratory part of the course includes:

  • Special constructions of artistic bookbinding

Study and organization of the technological process of integration of printed products, such as books, magazines, brochures and other publications with mechanical bookbinding and other completion procedures.
