SYLLABUS

Theoretical part

Teaching the basic principles of movement, presenting movies in the classroom, which have been awarded for their characters’ movement and analysing the movies scene by scene in order for the students to understand and pay attention to the details. Explaining the timing in the character’s movement, as part of expressing its characteristics.

Emphasizing in timing as part of expression and its connection with the narration by following the development of a movement step by step.

Creative part

The development of this creative part of the class it gets more demanding every time, as the exercises get more complicated. First exercises are made to understand the role of a character in animation, then the use of basic poses and their in betweens and at the end the cycle of a single movement. The creative part of this class has to do with different exercises, with different characters, in order to understand the difference in their movements and their expression. These exercises are getting done mostly during the class and each student’s work is corrected by the teacher in front of the class as part of case studies.
